The Edmonton Comedy Festival presented by ATB Financial is bringing the funny back to the city from October 17 to 21. The 2012 edition is packed with over two dozen comics from across North America, doing over two dozen shows on over half a dozen stages. We have 2 much funny 4 just 1 day!
The Edmonton Comedy Festival presented by ATB Financial will feature national and international stand-ups including Andrew Grose, Atomic Improv, Big Daddy Tazz, Louis Ramey and Monique Marvez, and 20 more headliners. They'll take the stage at venues throughout the city including The Citadel's Maclab Theatre, the River Cree Resort, The Westin and Four Points by Sheraton.
Jim Cuddy will kick off the festival by hosting the Comedy Rodeo October 17 at the Citadel's Maclab Theatre.
Nikki Payne will be the host for the Unleashed Show October 19. Payne was a finalist on Last Comic Standing and is a regular on Much Music's Video on Trial.
Saturday Night Live Alum Jay Mohr brings Saturday night alive at the River Cree Resort on October 20th.
Steve Patterson (The Debaters) will emcee the ultra-popular Date Night October 20 at the Citadel's Maclab Theatre.
Derek Edwards will bring his unique brand of Canadian humour to the festival for two nights. Edwards is the only Canadian to win the prestigious Vail Colorado invitational Comedy Competition.
This year the comedy festival will feature a Young Guns Competition at the River Cree Resort where up and coming comics will shoot it out for cash, prizes and a coveted spot at a festival gala show.
The festival will once again entertain the whole family. The Kids Komedy Show Saturday, October 20th at the Citadel's Ziedler Theatre will provide laughter for kids of all ages.
